Bio

Pedro Mesquita Freitas began his career in Portugal at Campelos Martins e Quintas, where he completed his traineeship and subsequently practiced law, working extensively in civil, labour, family, and commercial matters, as well as litigation.

In 2011, Pedro relocated to Macau and joined one of the city’s most prestigious law firms, gaining invaluable exposure to cross border legal practice and complex commercial matters. He later served for several years as Senior Legal Counsel at one of Macau’s leading gaming concessionaires, advising on regulatory compliance, contractual negotiations, and industry specific challenges within the highly regulated gaming and hospitality sector.

Pedro subsequently joined one of Macau’s legacy law firms as Senior Associate, further consolidating his expertise in gaming and hospitality law, contractual and commercial law, banking and insurance regulation, and compliance frameworks.
His dual registration in Portugal and Macau uniquely positions him to provide nuanced, strategic guidance to clients, combining technical precision with practical insight. With two decades of experience, Pedro brings a pragmatic, solution oriented approach, ensuring that legal strategies remain rigorous while aligned with the realities of business and industry.

2015 – 2021, prior to co-founding CFB, Victor acted as Senior Legal Counsel to one of the most luxurious Hotels in the world, being responsible for the management and coordination of the Legal Department since its development and construction and, afterwards, throughout its operation.

2006 – 2015, Victor moved to Macau to work at one of the most reputable local law firms, where he acquired significant experience dealing with local players and acting as external counsel for several financial, insurance, retail and hospitality institutions.

2001 – 2006, Victor relocated to Mozambique to act as a Lecturer at the top Universities in the capital of the country. During that time he also worked for a Zimbabwean Legal Consultancy and Accounting Firm.

1999 – 2001, legal advisor for the Portuguese Consumer Law Association, for the Oporto Derivatives Exchange Association (now EuroNext Lisbon Stock Exchange).
